2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve the App's features (note-taking, reading tracking, OCR, book lookup).
- Authenticate you and secure your account.
- Determine your subscription status and enable Pro Plus features.
- Sync your data across devices and restore it after reinstallation.
- Analyse survey responses to improve the App and develop new features.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Data Storage and Security
- Account and synced data are stored on Jiasstudio's servers, protected by TLS encryption in transit and secure storage at rest.
- Survey data is stored on Google Forms' servers. We secure our account with two-factor authentication, but are not responsible for Google's own security practices.
- Data on your device is protected by your device's built-in security (iOS/Android application sandboxing).
- No security method is 100% secure. You use the App at your own risk.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only as described below.
Authentication Providers
If you sign in with Apple or Google, those providers receive an authentication request and return a verified identity. Their privacy policies apply:
Subscription Verification
Subscription purchases and status verification are handled by:
- Apple App Store (iOS): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/
- Google Play Store (Android): https://play.google.com/about/play-terms/
We receive only your subscription status and expiry date from these services — not your payment details.
Book Metadata Services
When you scan or search for a book, the ISBN or search term is sent to one or more book catalogue APIs to retrieve metadata (title, author, page count, cover image). These services include Google Books, Open Library, the National Diet Library of Japan, Rakuten Books, and Kakao Books. Only the book identifier is transmitted — no personal data is shared with these services.
Survey Data
Survey responses are shared with Google LLC via Google Forms. Google's Privacy Policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose data if required by applicable law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Jiasstudio, its users, or the public.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., Australia, EU), you may have the right to:

- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data (see Section 6).
- Portability: Request an export of your synced data.
- Objection: Opt out of surveys at any time without affecting your use of the App.

- Your account data and all synced User Content (notes, trackers, collections) will be permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.

- Survey data stored on Google Forms is not automatically deleted — contact us to request its removal.
7. International Data Transfers
Your account and synced data are stored on our servers. Survey data sent to Google Forms may be stored outside Australia (e.g., in the United States). By using the App you consent to these transfers. We comply with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR for EU users and the Australian Privacy Act 1988.
